Shikshak Setu is NOT affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB / MPPEB), or any other central/state government ministry, department, or testing agency. All exam trademarks and syllabus references belong exclusively to their respective authorities.

1. Overview & Commitment to Privacy

At Shikshak Setu ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by the Education For All initiative, we respect the privacy of every educator and candidate who uses our application and website. We are firmly committed to user privacy: we do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information. Our platform is 100% free, devoid of commercial ads, and does not require users to create an account, provide phone numbers, or submit government credentials to practice.

2. Information We Collect and How It Is Used

A. Local Device Storage (No Cloud Profile Required)

When you take mock tests or subject practice quizzes, your test responses, marked flags, session scores, bookmarks, font preferences, and language selection are stored strictly locally inside your device’s browser storage (IndexedDB / localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to our servers. You have complete autonomy to clear this data at any time via the "Reset Session" button.

B. Community Discussion Forum (Optional & Voluntary)

If you voluntarily choose to post a question or share pedagogical advice on the public Teachers Community Forum, we collect only the publicly submitted content: your chosen display alias (or default name), selected teaching role (e.g., Primary Teacher), the message text, and the timestamp. This data is securely stored in Google Firebase Firestore to display discussions to other educators. We do NOT collect passwords, emails, or phone numbers for forum participation.

C. Technical Diagnostics & Aggregated Analytics

To ensure platform reliability, monitor offline caching, and diagnose application crashes across various mobile devices, we use Google Analytics / Firebase. This service collects basic anonymous telemetry such as device model, OS version, approximate region, and performance metrics. These logs do not contain personally identifiable information (PII) and are used strictly to optimize speed and fix bugs.

3. Android Device Permissions

The Shikshak Setu Android application utilizes the minimum necessary permissions to function:

INTERNET: Required to fetch official question banks, syllabus updates, and load forum discussions.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to detect whether your device is online or offline so the application can seamlessly serve locally cached practice tests.
VIBRATE (Optional): Used solely to provide gentle haptic notifications when the 150-minute exam timer approaches its final 5-minute threshold.

* Shikshak Setu does NOT access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, media storage, SMS, or phone state.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)

Shikshak Setu is a professional teacher competency and certification preparation application intended for adult educators, graduate trainees, and candidates preparing for government recruitment tests (typically aged 18 and older). We do not knowingly target, market to, or collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe any minor has provided information through the public forum, please contact us immediately for deletion.

5. Data Security & User Control

All network communication between your device and our hosting infrastructure is encrypted using transport layer security (HTTPS/TLS). Because mock test responses and progress remain locally in your device's browser/app sandbox, you can delete all your personal test data instantly by:

• Clicking "Reset Session" in the app footer, OR
• Clearing app data / browser cache in your Android settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We utilize trustworthy cloud infrastructure provided by Google LLC:

Google Firebase: Used for fast static hosting, offline caching, and real-time database capabilities. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts: Used to deliver accessible, high-contrast typography in Hindi (Noto Sans Devanagari) and English (Inter).
